EEGADS! Stage Fright, Rules, Lists, And Awards
Stage Fright
Being the surprise recipient of an award is like stumbling drunk and laughing so hard that you pee your pants… SAY WHAT?! For serious, when I get the news or hear my name called a sudden whirlwind, blinding dizziness engulfs my mind, emotions, and body. I am always surprised. Not like the surprises you practice in the mirror where you try your best not to have porno mouth, but seriously surprised. The blow of dizziness and denial cause my emotional and logical well-being to check out faster than a serial play boy. UMM Yeah I have to wash my hair… With my special shampoo… So, I don’t know what to feel or how to act. I start giggling awkwardly and uncontrollably. Oh yes, I am THAT person. So I stumble up to the podium in fear, giggling in my much madness, and accept the award… But now they want me to have a list and speech… BOOM! Turn on the water works. We aren’t talking tears people. Okay, Okay. I have never peed my pants while winning an award but all the feelings of relief, warmth, and hysterical embarrassment are there. And that damned giggling…
Anyway, My lovely friend Teri Jensen @ The Narcissists Blog has given me an award. Out. Of. No. Where.
I have no idea WHAT to think of this but TJ has said some very flattering and amazing things to me and has been very supportive! A thank you wouldn’t cover the blessing that is to me!
The Rules
There are always rules, but I am a bit of a rebel and will not follow all of them to the T. I will give you an explanation why though.
The One Lovely Blog Award are as follows:
- Thank the person who nominated you. (Who wouldn’t- weirdo!)
- Name your nominated blogs 10-15 is the standard number. Then notify them that you have done so. (I am doing a lesser number. I am very picky when it comes to those I follow. With that said I do read every single person’s blog who comments, likes, or contacts me. They have shown me a gesture of kindness; I like returning the favor! Plus if I nominated THAT many what happens if I get another award! I want to save some of you in cases!)
- Share seven things about yourself. (OH geesh! OK! I will but you can also check out some random facts about me HERE and There!
The List
I consider the blogs I interact with friends. Not the let’s grab a cup of joe or make trouble in dark alleys kind of friends. They share with me and you what I share; a very intimate part of our souls and lives that not everyone is allowed to see. That definitely is a friendship of some sort! I have 7 exactly to share with you that I can define as lovely. (I have so many more that I love though but would never describe as lovely.)
- Kaitlin and Michael, The Athele Series. Sharing the tips and tricks they use and encounter with their projects and books. They have been very supportive of my questions and comments since I am a newbie to this fiction thing!
- Rhiannon, World of Rhiannon. Found her through Kaitlin on Twitter! Amazing writer in Hungary! Get that translator ready!
- The Teacher, Stewpify. He found me first, but I am glad he did! His use of pictures, imagery, and quips make for some spectacular, beautiful posts!
- The Katz’, Mission of Complex: Our Journey Through Hyperlexia. I could never explain the love and wonder that this blog has brought me. As one of the first blogs I have followed, the journey with them has truly touched the journey in my home with my eldest who is on the Autism spectrum. It has touched my heart just the same; a real blessing.
- The craziest chick of Crazy Chicks Club, LaFemme Roar. Many things can be said of this blog and many words that are not so ‘lovely’ could be used to describe it. But, the love Le Femme has for others and the support she gives is beyond lovely! She is a very inspirational Lady!
- Matthew, Matthew D. Weigand. An astonishing writer of fiction who willingly takes you through the journey of creating his stories. He is open to criticism as much as he appreciates praise. It never gets old reading his posts and watching the creation become. It is almost like watching your favorite garage band become famous!
- Evan, The Better Man Project. This is his journey and it is a beautiful and inspirational journey! This one you just have to read to understand!
The Award
- The sound of wringing things out is the WORST and most PAINFUL thing in the world for me. It is worse than nails on a chalkboard. I get goosebumps all over my body to the point my skin, joints, and ears hurt. I start shaking and hopping around like I am having a violent seizure. I can’t even talk or write about it without going through these exact same symptoms. AND, to top it off, my youngest has started sucking on his blanket… THE. SAME. HORRID. SOUND. How do you be mean to a baby who is hurting you unintentionally?
- I received the Versatile Blogger Award shortly after starting out. I denied it. I didn’t find it fair as I had yet to pay my dues and I had yet to really get into everyone else’s blogs. It may seem strange but I like working hard and earning things.
- I come from a long line of people who are tormented and gifted by spirits. I, myself, actually see spirits and ghosts.
- My first poem that got recognition was two pages long and written in the 4th or 5th grade. It is titled Loneliness, My Friend.
- It is strange to me that a year before I turn 30 my tastes have changed drastically. I went from preferring Silver to Bronze/ Copper. I have always hated purple and yet I find my self deeply in love with the dark. deep burnt purples. I always wrote poetry and now I suddenly have a hankering for short stories! I used to be a photo taking whore… now it is only when inspired. So many things… Growing up is weird.
- I have done a lot of interesting things in my life. I have been a total slut. I have tormented family in friends. I have ran around with complete strangers. I have stood my ground. I have taken time to step back and find my flaws to fix them. You will get to read many of these stories to come!
- My children are the most inspiring people in my life. They expose my flaws. They test my will, patience, and sanity. They show true compassion and love. They may be naive and gullible but they are beyond intelligent and creative. At the end of the day, their laughter is what keeps me strong.

You totally deserve this award and I love your seven things. “How do you be mean to a baby who is hurting you unintentionally?” LOL!
Thank you again! You are a very talented writer as well! If only I knew you when I was still dating! Such a fresh sense and level head!
I won’t pontificate since all my comments are ending up in spam for some unknown and frustrating reason – every comment I continue to post is just a reflection of my optimism that its just a glitch that will be over soon like a bad dream – and on the note – congrats on your award and thank you for your kind words on Lafemmes CC Q&A and your 7 things totally rock!
now i am hitting post and keeping my fingers crossed that at the very least you check your spam filter every now and then…
I actually check it everyday. A lot of my friends who are not on wordpress have the same problem. Your interview has been one of my favorite yet! I am glad you like what you have read! Hope you investigate my diverse blog and find something you like
Thank you so much for reading!
Thank you Future. I’m honored to be included in your list … I know I’ll have to visit their blogs. There is nothing better than being a crazy chick in a crazy world and living life our way and laughing at the malfunction of the universe. Keep on keeping on crazy chick!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why Thank you
Congratulations on your gong, you deserve it!
Thank you, Dear!
Hello this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
You can use both. I am pretty good with code and there are plenty of free sites online to help, but I rely on the WordPress visual editor unless there is something very specific I want done. They also offer a CSS upgrade if you are really good and want to use all code.
